Menno Nolten vies for the 2024 Dutch Championships
Menno Nolten, the Allesvoorpadel talent, competed for the Dutch Championship together with his partner Bart van Opstal during the Dutch Padel Week in Eindhoven. For this, the men trained for two months during the pre-season in Spain, where they prepared themselves for the 2024 Dutch Padel Championship.
The first round that Menno Nolten and Bart van Opstal played was on Wednesday evening 27 March against Ole Oosterom and Daan van Randtwijk. The first set was exciting, but was won with a result of 6-4. The next set the men had the upper hand and won 6-0, qualifying for the quarter-finals. ''We had really played extremely well for our feelings and wanted to carry this through to the quarterfinals'' said Menno.

In the quarterfinals, the pair faced Jasper Smit and Simon Bond. This match was played on Saturday morning, 30 March. This was a tasty match for Menno and Bart which they won easily with a result of 6-1 6-1. ''This match went so well that we went through to the semi-finals with a good feeling'' says Menno Nolten.
Semi-final was handsomely difficult
The semi-final played Menno and Bart against Julian Prins and Youp de Kroon. The match started very awkwardly and they lost the first set 1-6. With a lot of motivation the men fought on and managed to win the second set with a result of 6-2, but in the last set the opponents were really too strong with a result of 3-6. ''Unfortunately the match did not go as we had hoped and we could not reach our level'' says Menno Nolten disappointed. He adds: ''Looking back at the event, I am extremely sad about the semi-final, but we are proud of our performance that we were able to show during the first two matches''.

In the end, Bram Meijer and Sten Richters became Dutch Champions of the men's doubles. Allesvoorpadel is immensely proud of Menno Nolten and the qualities he has shown during the NK Padel 2024. Menno Nolten adds: ''The season has only just started, so we are moving on to the upcoming tournaments with good confidence''.
