Pickleball: the mix between tennis, badminton and table tennis<\/strong>
Pickleball is a relatively new sport originally developed in the United States in the 1960s. It is played on a court about a quarter the size of a tennis court, with a low net and a hard, perforated plastic ball (wiffle ball). Players use paddles that are shorter and sturdier than padel rackets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Padel: the fastest-growing sport in Europe<\/strong>
Padel is a mix between tennis and squash and is played on a smaller, enclosed court of glass walls and metal fencing. This keeps the ball in play longer and creates tactical rallies. Padel is always played in doubles (competitive), with a racket and a soft ball slightly smaller than a tennis ball. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which sport is growing faster?<\/strong>
Both sports are growing exposively, but on different continents and at different rates. Padel is the undisputed No 1 in Europe. Padel is the fastest growing sport in Europe, with countries such as Spain, Italy, Sweden and the Netherlands leading the way. In the Netherlands, there are now over 2,794 padel courts and the number is still growing. Tennis clubs are adding padel courts and new indoor padel centres are springing up. The sport is growing rapidly because of its social factor and easy learning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
