Athletic Skills Model and Padel Construction linked through new partnership

Unique padel court boosts fitness and vitality

Varied and versatile exercise for all. That is one of the main principles of the Athletic Skills Model (ASM) and also aligns seamlessly with the vision of Padel Construction. The Athletic Skills Company and Padel Construction launched PLAYCE Padel at the end of September. 'Colourful padel courts, where young and old can enjoy plenty of exercise, training, sports, play or rehabilitation. This is unique in the world,' say René Wormhoudt (founder of ASM together with Prof Geert Savelsbergh) and Floris Siderius (Padel Bouw) enthusiastically.

René Wormhoudt is the owner of the Athletic Skills Company. He is also the strength & conditioning coach of the Dutch national team (KNVB). Floris Siderius is owner of Padel Bouw, the specialist in building padel courts in the Netherlands. 'Together, we want to make a positive contribution to the fitness and vitality of the Netherlands. Having fun and stimulating creativity are very important in this,' says Floris Siderius.

'Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in our country. It is a fun and low-threshold game,' says René Wormhoudt. 'For athletes, who want to train their eye-hand coordination, turning or footwork in a different way. But also for people who play padel or just want to exercise together. The interesting thing about the PLAYCE Padel is that you can very easily use it for numerous other sports and exercise activities. The court is versatile and we make the most of this.' In addition, the PLAYCE Padel is also wheelchair and walker accessible. This allows the elderly to do exercises or games here, and the physiotherapist can use forms of rehabilitation on this court.

'Examples? The court is also suitable (partly thanks to the adjustable net) for badminton, volleyball, football, foot volleyball or head football. With the help of the coloured areas, patterns and various lines on the ground, all kinds of possible game forms and tasks are created. With its circles, squares, numbers and goals, the extra-reinforced wall can also be used for various target games. The patterns and lines can be used well for agility training or more specifically footwork training. All this fits well with concepts such as bootcamp, crossfit, yoga or pilates classes. The possibilities are endless. All exercises, game forms, activities and test distances are plug-and-play available for broad motor development for everyone. But perhaps more importantly; it is a fun, stimulating and challenging environment!'

Floris Siderius: 'The multifunctional playing fields bring together all ages and all levels. With or without disabilities. As central accommodation on a sports park or in the neighbourhood, it is a catalyst for more cooperation and sustainable use. Its versatility also means you get more return from your floor space. PLAYCE Padel brings sports clubs, education, healthcare, childcare together.'

'Customers put together their ideal indoor or outdoor accommodation themselves. The colourful floor and surfaces are made of high-quality materials and we make extensive use of glass and steel. This makes it easy to fit into the public space, the sports park or the club,' he explains.

'Besides delivering quality work, Padel Bouw has guts. Guts to respond creatively and innovatively to (social) opportunities. PLAYCE Padel is an interesting addition to PLAYCE Sport, PLAYCE X and the Skills Garden. Together, we hope to entice even more people to sport, play and move together or alone with pleasure. After all, exercise is healthy.'

The first PLAYCE Padel accommodation will be completed at Racketsport Schiedam on Friday, October 2. For more information: www.padelbouw.nl
