Groundwork

The stable basis for sustainable, high-quality construction

A padel court does not start with the cage or artificial turf, but with the surface. Well-executed groundwork is essential for stability, water drainage and a long life of the sports floor. Allesvoorpadel specialises in infrastructure and provides professional groundwork for padel courts at any location in the Netherlands.

Important points to consider when doing groundwork for padel courts

We are happy to help!

STEP FOR STEP

For example, we provide the groundwork for a padel court project.

We start with preparatory work such as removing paving, gravel or existing sports floors. The site will then be prepared for building.

If necessary, we improve permeability by applying drainage. Trenches are filled and profiled for optimal drainage.

Once the groundwork has been completed, the foundation can be placed and the foundations laid for sports surfaces such as SuperSub or ZOAB.

Preparatory work on site

Before the groundwork actually starts, the site must be prepared for construction. This may involve installing driving plates, removing paving or removing existing curbing and gravel.

In some cases, tennis courts are replaced by padel courts. In that case, we also take care of the complete demolition and removal of the existing structure. This approach creates an efficient and well thought-out construction process from the very first step.

Drainage for optimal playability

With outdoor padel courts, drainage is often essential to prevent waterlogging. When water permeability needs to be improved, we dig trenches into which drainage is installed.

These trenches are filled with M3C sand and carefully profiled. In most cases, we install spouting wells to which the drainage is connected so that it can also be maintained. Finally, the manholes are connected together with PVC to drain the water to a HWA or ditch.

Groundwork for foundation and sports floor

A stable foundation is the foundation of any durable padel court. Groundwork for foundations starts by accurately plotting the site, excavating excess soil and disposing of materials.

Then the foundation can be placed and the sports floor is poured, e.g. SuperSub or ZOAB. As every subsoil is different, we determine the right foundation construction and execution for each situation.

Groundwork challenges for padel courts

Groundwork is one of the most defining phases within a padel court project. Each site has different soil conditions, so the approach differs from site to site. In particular, water drainage, stability and foundation construction require technical expertise. In addition, preparatory work such as demolition of existing sports floors or pavement removal can add extra complexity. Weather conditions also play a major role in planning and execution. Without professional groundwork, subsidence and drainage problems can occur that limit the life of the court. Therefore, expert guidance is essential for a sustainable foundation.

Frequently asked questions about groundwork padel court

Why is groundwork so important with padel courts?

Because the substrate determines stability and longevity. Poor groundwork can lead to subsidence, water problems and premature wear of the sports floor.

Outdoor courts often do, especially in locations with limited water permeability. Drainage prevents puddling and ensures optimal playability during rain.

The foundation depends on soundings and structural calculations. In most cases, a ring foundation on steel can be used. In some situations, a concrete slab foundation is also possible. If poor subsoil, there are other solutions with EPS or perhaps piles.

The site should be accessible and lockable. In addition, electricity, water and sanitation must be made available to ensure the construction process runs efficiently. Of course, this can also be organised by Allesvoorpadel, but this is usually less practical and involves unnecessary costs.

In consultation, a lot is possible, especially when it comes to getting the pitch ready for construction. For the construction of the pitch, it is exceptional if we do not do this ourselves which also has to do with warranty.

By doing preliminary research such as probing, we see how load-bearing the subsoil is. This determines how the construction will be made. We can say that we have a lot of experience with this and can give good advice. If we do not have an immediate answer, we will find out and provide good advice.

Nothing is impossible, but do take into account additional costs for a crane or small equipment, for example, and therefore more hours to realise the groundwork.
