Outdoor maintenance

Outdoor padel courts face environmental factors such as rain, sun and organic pollution. We recommend that an outdoor court be fitted twice a year with specialist maintenance. As the court is used, the infill sand sinks deeper and deeper between the fibres and can petrify. This sand should be pulverised and aerated deep into the mat. This greatly improves water permeability. In the areas that are walked on the most, the artificial grass fibre will eventually flatten out. Therefore, the next step is to brush up the fibre and possibly add extra sand. The ball bounce will be the same everywhere on the court again and this will also be a big improvement for grip and safety. Want padel maintenance for your padel court? Then you've come to the right place at Allesvoorpadel!

In addition to weekly sweeps (by the association), it is recommended that twice a year specialised artificial turf maintenance for outdoor padel courts. This is beneficial for the life of your artificial grass mat, moreover, it also improves the playing characteristics. The padel maintenance roadmap is as follows:

  • Weed, algae and moss control along curb stones.
  • Clean the surface with a leaf blower.
  • Infill pulverising with a 360 Spike machine.
  • Brushing up the artificial grass fibre.
  • Infill purify/filter and replenish as needed.
  • Dragging in the padel court with a dragnet or the Padmax VX2.
  • Check and repair seams and lines.

Depending on the location and atmospheric contamination, glass should be cleaned at least six times and steel at least four times a year for outdoor padel courts. Allesvoorpadel recommends cleaning the glass and steel construction twice a year through a maintenance contract to have it done professionally. The other times you can do this yourself. The padel maintenance roadmap is as follows:

  • Cleaning the glass with osmosis water.
  • Cleaning the steel structure with osmosis water.

As the padel court is played a lot and hit and run against the glass walls and fencing during play, the cage will settle, especially in the beginning. It is therefore important to inspect the cage construction within two months of installation and check that all fastening points are still secure through maintenance. After the initial inspection, we recommend checking the cage construction to be checked by the experienced staff at Allesvoorpadel. The roadmap is as follows:

  • Check/replace fasteners.
  • Repair loose bolts, crooked parts.
  • Check/replace cover caps.
  • Checking and tensioning the play net
  • Providing multi-year advice to maximise use of the job for as long as possible.
