Foundation

Construction and padel court foundation for a stable and durable foundation

A padel court foundation is one of the most important technical components within the construction process. The foundation determines the stability of the structure and prevents subsidence in the long term. Allesvoorpadel works with several foundation solutions, tailored to subsoil, space and local conditions.

Important points to consider in padel court foundations

STEP FOR STEP

This is how we determine and realise the right foundation for your padel court.

We assess the subsoil and space around the track. If necessary, we carry out soundings to determine bearing capacity and settlement sensitivity.

Based on the situation, we choose ring foundations, concrete slabs or a customised solution. Structural calculations ensure a safe foundation.

With our own people, we can realise and make the foundation according to calculations. An executor organises the work.

Ring foundation as the most commonly used option.

In most cases, a ring foundation is cut from the sports floor and then excavated to the correct depth. This is where the reinforcement and structural concrete are placed according to structural calculations. The standard foundation is 40x40cm, but at locations with poor subsoil, EPS is placed under it, for example, or piles can be used. We can adjust everything per situation and location.

Concrete slab foundation as cheaper and/or more flexible option

With a concrete slab foundation, the padel courts are fixed on concrete slabs that serve as a solid base for the structure. Naturally, an approved sports floor is laid under the artificial grass; the concrete slabs serve purely as a foundation. This method is particularly suitable for locations with good sandy soil. It is a cheaper method of construction. It is also ideal for temporary locations because many materials can be reused.

Settlement-prone areas and bespoke foundations

In areas with weak or settlement-prone subsoil, extra attention is needed. Here, Allesvoorpadel regularly applies EPS blocks under the ring foundation, limiting subsidence and keeping the construction lightweight.

In extreme situations, a fully driven foundation can be used. Here, piles are placed with a concrete slab above them as a foundation. We also build projects with a sand package of 30 cm M3C sand and, if necessary, an integrated drainage system as standard.

Challenges in foundations for padel courts

Determining the right foundation is one of the most technical parts of a padel court project. Every location has a different soil structure and requires a specific solution. Especially in subsidence-prone areas, subsidence can occur if foundation and substructure are not designed correctly. In addition, space constraints around the court play a role when choosing between ring foundations and concrete slabs. Drainage and sand construction must also be properly integrated to ensure long-term stability. Without experience, an incorrect foundation choice can lead to high repair costs and restrictions in use. Therefore, expert guidance is essential for a sustainable foundation.

Frequently asked questions about padel court foundations

Which foundation is most suitable?

It depends on the subsoil and space on site. Ring foundations are the most common, but in some cases a cheaper option with concrete slab foundations is also possible. In addition, we will first have to examine how strong the subsoil is, and from there we will determine the recommendation.

In these areas, we apply customised solutions such as EPS blocks or even fully driven foundation. This way, we prevent subsidence and guarantee stability.

Yes, if necessary, we integrate a drainage system with end pipes and collector wells to ensure water drainage and playability.

We have been building outdoor padel courts for over 10 years and we have learned a lot from this. In addition, the owner of Allesvoorpadel owned an infrastructure company before this and we are used to working with earthworks and foundations.
