Padelbouw, "Proud supplier of NK Padel 2022 Zwolle"
From 6 to 13 March, the 2022 Padel NK took place at the IJsselhallen in Zwolle. During the tournament, games were played in the women's, men's, senior and youth categories. Padel competitions
With around 120,000 active players, padel is also one of the fastest-growing sports in the Netherlands. The KNLTB represents padel in the Netherlands. Several competitions are offered to padel players in the Netherlands. The competitions are mainly known for the sociability and experience you gain. By playing a competition together with your team, you get to know each other better and gain match experience. In 2022, four competitions will take place, the spring, summer, autumn and winter competition. And of course, not forgetting the NK Padel tournament.
NK Padel tournament
The NK Padel is a tournament that takes place annually and is for the top players in the Netherlands. The Dutch padel championship was moved due to corona because otherwise no spectators were allowed to attend. As that was unfortunately not going to happen in early December, tennis association KNLTB, in consultation with the organisers, moved the tournament to March 2022. This year's venue was a super one. The tournament took place in the Peakz Padel IJsselhallen in Zwolle. The IJsselhallen in Zwolle offer a lot of space and have many padel courts, including a special Centre Court built by Padelbouw. So they have 15 courts in total, 11 indoor and 4 outdoor courts.

What makes the Zwolle venue so special are the courts. A total of 15 courts, including 9 built by Padelbouw. Including 4 outdoor courts, 4 indoor courts and 1 special Centre Court, the 360-degree Adidas competition court. This padel court is completely panoramic. The difference between a normal padel court and a panoramic padel court is that there are no metal poles between the glass panels. This is because these poles obstruct the view for spectators.
The padel court is equivalent to the World Padel Tour court. The artificial grass in the court is the Mondo Supercourt XN Two-Tone blue. The surface of the court was supplied by Supersub and the lighting has been specially designed by Oostendorp Supplied with Philips fixtures. On the court, the international padel standard is easily met. There is 800lux on the court with an evenness of 0.9. All in all, this is therefore the perfect court for playing padel. For the next three years, the NK Padel will take place in the Peakz Padel IJsselhallen.
NK Padel results
It was another great tournament with great rallies and action. The two most spectacular matches were definitely the ladies' and men's finals. In the sold-out Peakz Padel IJsselhallen, the ladies Tess van Dinteren and Milou Ettekoven took on Steffie Weterings and Gabriella van de Willige. It was an exciting final but in the end Tess van Dinteren and Milou Ettekoven managed to take the victory by three sets.
On the men's side, it was Bram Meijer and Uriel Maarssen who won the title after a frenzied final. The men took on Sten Richters and Robin Sietsma. They eventually took the title 6-4, 6-3 and can now call themselves champions. It was two fantastic finals and with deserved winners.
We had the opportunity to speak to winner Milou Ettekoven about her experience on court during the 2022 Padel National Championships.
"Two weeks ago I played at the NK padel 2022 in Zwolle. The Centre Court with the World Padel Tour mat in two-tone blue by Mondo had been constructed by Padelbouw. The quality of the court was very good so there were perfect conditions to play. I look forward to playing here again next year and competing for the title!"
Padel party
Apart from the tournaments, there are always super fun side events organised around the sport of padel. There is a DJ playing music and there are clinics with demos for young and old. Wheelchair padel could also be introduced.
